Steele Associates believe that designing and constructing outstanding buildings is about integrating the knowledge, experience, imagination and activity of its team members to get the most out of each other.

Oliver Steele - Director

Passion, commitment and vision have driven Oliver Steele since entering the building industry in 1994. Today, his rare blend of academic and trade-based qualifications - a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours) and a Builder's License - arm him with an intimate knowledge of all aspects of building. This knowledge ranges from the philosophy and poetics of space to the opportunities and constraints of 21st century construction. Oliver's passions also lead him to lead Steele Associates into an age of sustainable design and development. These have become the prime motivating force behind Steele Associates, with both Oliver and his team committed to providing cutting edge, environmentally sustainable projects.

Ben Mattison - Project Manager

Starting out as a cabinet maker gave Ben a solid basis in old-fashioned craftsmanship which he brings to all aspects of building, from formwork, to framing, to joinery. His fluent understanding of the most complex details make him an asset to every project. Ben’s hands on approach and natural leadership skills have seen him excel as a project manager. Clients are always pleasantly surprised by the importance he places on fulfilling their needs. For Ben, a job isn’t complete until he knows the client is happy as with the result as he is.

Jeff Andrews - Construction Manager

Jeff’s keen eye for detail and background in quality assurance and business development have given him the ideal skill set which enables him to competently navigate each project in its entirety. Having grown up in a family of builders he naturally had an inclination towards the industry. After running his own window and door installation business he decided to move into the realm of residential construction. Since entering this specific aspect of the construction industry he quickly progressed into Project Management. His passion and interest have now lead him to undertake his Masters in Construction Project Management at the University of NSW. As Project Manager for numerous projects, he has brought a depth of experience and breadth of knowledge that has made him a dynamic player in building beautiful homes for our clients.

Tim Matuszewicz

Tim began exploring his passion for the built environment straight out of high school when he worked in the renovation sector before beginning his Bachelor of Design (Architecture) at the University of Sydney. He then continued his studies completing his Bachelor of Architecture with Class One honors and was quickly snapped up by one of the top Architecture firms in Sydney. While working he continued his studies completing his Masters of Project Management with distinction through the University of Wollongong. After a number of years working as an Graduate Architect he came to work for Steele Associates as both Contract Administrator and Architectural Assistant and has brought his wealth of knowledge and skills to the table. His personable manner and quick mind have seen him being given increasing levels of ownership on projects and have endeared him to the clients he works with.

Stephanie Ottens - Office Manager

Stephanie has a rare blend of qualifications, experience and interest that make her the ideal office manager for a design and construct organisation. She holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Applied Design, as well as a Certificate of Registration in Real Estate. She has also completed a property development course through an independent provider and continues her education in this field through ongoing learning and study. Since migrating to Australia from Canada in 2001, she progressed from retail assistant to department manager in a large organisation where she developed and refined her exceptional organisational and management skills. Her keen interest in the construction industry as well as a natural talent for marketing has provided Steele Associates with a winning combination. These interests as well as her enthusiastic passion for creating an ordered work environment are undeniably conducive to assisting the project team in producing great buildings.

Grayden Kenney - Contracts Administrator

Grayden’s down to earth nature and undeniable commitment to the team has been an ongoing asset to Steele Associates since 2007. From his days as a Jackaroo in Western Australia which led him to studying Agricultural Economics to his time in the Real Estate industry where he gained his Certificate of Registration, he comes with a well rounded background and it was these experiences which finally led him to discovering his passion in the property and construction industry. He completed his Diploma of Building Studies and continues to pursue higher education and has worked as a Contracts Administrator for numerous high end projects at Steele Associates. His enthusiasm to see every project completed to the highest standard has opened many doors and has endeared him to all the clients and fellow staff that have had the pleasure of working with him.
